6 Reasons Why DiggM8 Buries Digg River
September 24th, 2007 MobileFreak
So I was looking for a mobile version of Digg to check out the latest tech news on the train. There’s obviously the official mobile version of Digg, Digg River. A recent alternative is called diggM8 (”Digg-Mate”), and it’s even better than the official version.
In fact, here are six reasons why DiggM8 is better than Digg River:
- When clicking through to read the original story, DiggM8 displays it in a mobile-friendly format so you can read it right there on your mobile phone. Digg River simply links to the main html site, many of which do not display well on mobile phones.
- DiggM8 lets you send the story to a friend by SMS or email. Digg River doesn’t.
- DiggM8 lets you download pictures right to your cell from the news story. Digg River doesn’t.
- DiggM8 is in alpha, meaning you are ultra tech savvy if you are using it.
- The URLs for the category pages for DiggM8 are slightly more intuitive, which lets you go straight there without navigating.
- It’s fun to say DiggM8.
All that said, if you want to actually digg any stories from your mobile, Digg River is the only place where you can login and digg to your hearts content.

Only thing about diggm8 is you cant actually digg a story if it had that it would be really awesome.

I use DiggM8 as well. It is just awesome. Even still in alpha it is still better than anything out there.
DiggRiver is terrible, I just tried DiggM8 and its pretty solid. Looking forward to seeing what new features these guys add.
