After counting and verifying the points about ten different times, here are the winners of our September contest:
- Brian (aka, Psyphris): 80 points
- iluvfreestuff: 45 points
And the runners up finishing at 35 points and below:
- daniele91
- Sherry
- themelib
- Vicenzo
- Vicenzo
- Wiehanne
And many more.
Brian wins the wicked-cool laser keyboard ($150 value), and iluvfreestuff wins the $100 cash straight to a paypal account. Congratulations to the winners!! (you will both be contacted within 24 hours with details about getting your prizes).
We must mention two contestants who clearly provided the most value in their comments. Brian, the winner, definitely provided value primarily in his initial comments.
The other was Dean Collins, which should not be a surprise to anyone that has read Dean’s input in the past. He is a frequent visitor and always contributes excellent insight into mobile technology. Be sure to check out Dean’s company here.
Thanks again all and stay tune for our next contest. Again you can get an early notice of it by following us on Twitter here.

We have counted up the points from the participants in the September contest, and will be announcing the lucky winners tonight. Thanks for your patience and stay tuned!

Wow!! We had a huge flurry of activity towards the final hours of the September contest. A big thanks to all who participated. We definitely need several days to count up the points for all the contributors.
We noticed some people said they would prefer the second place cash prize over the bluetooth laser keyboard. I have to tell you the laser keyboard is extremely slick — it’s perfect for a plane ride and will definitely catch the eye of those around you. And it retails for around $150 last time we checked.
In any case, some of you emailed or posted your points and how you got them, and that is helpful. If anyone else would like to help us out by letting us know how many comments and/or links you posted, please do so in a comment to this post, or through our contact us page.
We certainly learned a few more rules to add for our next contest as well. Thanks again all and we will be listing the winners by September October 15.

Want an easy way to win $100 cash or a Bluetooth Laser Keyboard? Here you are:
This month’s contest is wrapping up, and we have been admittedly behind in posting the standings. So without further ado, here are the current standings by name (hint: anyone can come in and win this one):
- Myers Briggs – 3 points
- Ryan Steyn – 2 points
- Several tied at 1 point each:
- Dean Collins
- Ray Charles
- Peter
- Rosina
- Paul
- ES
Again, the rankings above are by name but we also match email addresses provided with the comment.
I predict that the one who publishes just a couple links to this site between now and September 30 will win it easily. Although it can be one with comments too. We shall see.
The official rules can be found here. If you have any ideas for next month’s contests, let us know.
It’s still wide open – Have fun!

A month after we highlighted the find.mobi mobile search site, dotMobi is putting it up for sale. As reported in a press release on Wednesday, the site has “outgrown the lab”, and is now ready to deliver “significant value” to the buyer.
How much do you think it will go for? $500,000? $1,000,000? More?
Note from the press release all that buyers might be getting:
dotMobi is soliciting proposals for the disposal of all or parts of the find.mobi assets, which include the mobile web site (find.mobi), web crawler algorithm and code, mobile site detection algorithm and code, parking / landing page detection algorithm and code, adult content classifier learning algorithm and code, and the find.mobi name / site address.
Submit your guess in a comment to this post by Monday, May 19, 2008. The top 3 entries closest to the published sale amount will win a MobileMammoth T-Shirt! All entries must be posted by 11:59pm ET (GMT -0500) on May 19.

February 9th, 2008
In case you have not checked lately, there are a host of mobile sites and services that are making everyday life easier for thousands of people just like us. To highlight just a sample, I compiled the following list of 71 things you can do from your mobile phone.
I wanted to make this interactive, so I temporarily left the links off of a few items. Why? So that we can learn from you and everyone else out there. If you have recommendations for what mobile sites or tools to use to accomplish any of the items below, leave a comment to this post and share your knowledge. After February 9, ten of the highest quality commenters will be sent a free MobileMammoth t-shirt, AND I will add the links to the remaining items in the list.
Happy mobile browsing…
