Pandora Radio creates custom radio stations based on your favorite artists that you specify. Despite it’s apparently uncertain future, the service has developed a huge fan following.

Now Pandora comes in a free iPhone App, available through iTunes. One unique feature of this iPhone application is that it lets users create custom music channels, without requiring an existing Pandora account.

I was reviewing all the great mobile websites submitted by you, our readers, in our mobile website contest back in September, and found a few gems I had not uncovered yet. Today’s mobile website is all about getting more out of your mobile phone.

Wattpad is a free service that provides access to user-generated (or submitted) text content. The primary benefit is access to high quality text content that is readily available at any time, and content can be stored for off-line reading later. Upon logging in, users immediately see the most popular stories/books/articles. The community aspect is real, in that users submit, vote, and comment on the various books, stories, and articles submitted.

While Wattpad prohibits the uploading of other people’s copyrighted material, how that is enforced is a tricky question. I do hope they take that policy seriously and put some weight behind it before this becomes a bigger issue for them. It seems to be a bright team behind Wattpad, so I fully expect they have thought that through and vetted it with their attorneys.

This gives me yet another reason to believe that Amazon’s Kindle ebook reader will not be a long-term success. Can there really be a need for yet another device exclusively for reading text? Doubtful.
