“How does that song go again?” Now you can get an easy answer to that question in no time, and for free, right from your mobile phone.

TextListen is a new mobile service that lets you text the name of a song and the artist, and their service sends the song to your phone so you can listen to it. TextListen does not charge for the service, so the only potential cost is sending a text message.

Here are the three simple steps directly from the TextListen website:

1. Add (617) 396-7989 as contact “TextListen” in your phone contacts.
2. Text an artist and song to the TextListen contact. Example: “Nelly Just a Dream”
3. Listen to your song.

A fan of singer/songwriter Steph Fraser shot us a note about her new mobile website. I didn’t know who Steph Fraser was, but here’s a good little summary I found of her work.

Within the last 12 months Steph had signed a management deal, secured a recording contract and played in front of 20,000 people while supporting Mcfly, Natalie Imbruglia and Natasha Bedingfield before embarking on a journey to Canada having been asked to showcase at the prestigious Canadian Music Week festival in Toronto, March 2008.

She is often compared to Eva Cassidy but also writes her own material. She plays acoustic gutar and has a voice and style that often generate a moving response from her audiences.

She recorded her EP at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, Ontario. The producer ‘Dan Achen’ had just recorded Dallas Green’s new City & Colour album and brought out breathtaking versions of Weight of Water and Purple Sun.

AT&T and Samsung joined forces to provide a Napster enabled mobile phone just in time for the holidays.

Dubbed the SLM, the phone will let users search from Napster’s music library of 5 million+ songs, and download the songs directly to the mobile phone. Single songs can be purchased for $1.99 each using the service, or 5 tracks per month are available at $7.49 per month.

Disney’s High School Musical movies have done rather well, and now there’s a mobile website to showcase the latest one.

The site for High School Musical 2 let’s you meet the cast, watch video clips, vote in their latest poll, or get text messages from your favorite character from the movie. Personally, I don’t know Troy from Gabriella, but I hear they are some talented kids.

Spin Magazine offers two ways to stay on top of the modern music scene from your mobile phone.

For news updates via text message, simply text “SPIN” to 68423. They promise one message per day, Monday through Friday, covering the latest news in modern music.

The mSPIN service is a mobile website which lets the user check out album reviews, music news, interviews, and other music related goodies. At the time of this post, they’ve got an article on Rilo Kiley, and an interview with Thurston Moore. Rock on!
