It’s official. Cook is the better all around rocker. Archuleta is crazy talented, but at 17 he’s still a bit awkward. Just my opinion.

(note this is slightly off-topic but I thought it was too timely not to pass on…)
I got 4 gift cards from Dick’s Sporting Goods, and one from Best Buy this Christmas. If you’re like many other Americans, you received a few yourself.
If you got a gift card from a store you’d never buy from, you can sell it on eBay for up to 95% of the value. Here’s how:
1. Go to eBay and search for “ gift card”.
2. See what they are selling for, and check out some of the descriptions.
3. Post your gift card(s) up for auction, and get cash you can actually use.
Or if you’re going to spend money somewhere anyway, why not buy a gift card for a discount and save a little. Click here to see what gift cards are for sale now on eBay.
I have not had to do this myself, but know many people that have. What do you think - are there any other good post-holiday shopping tips out there?

On a technical note, I spent Sunday morning upgrading to the latest WordPress version, which essentially provides improved security, and a few more bells and whistles that I plan to take advantage of soon. Apologies to those who may have had trouble accessing our site on Friday. It seems that our custom WordPress theme was not active for some reason, and I had to re-apply it.
Issue resolved, WordPress upgraded. Done and done.
Now back to catching up on mobile websites and wrapping gifts!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
This is without a doubt my favorite time of year. We just hosted over forty people at our house for Thanksgiving and it was a ton of fun. I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday, and for those of you venturing out to the malls on black Friday, good luck to you!

Seems we were too busy geeking out on our mobile browsers yesterday and missed the memo on blog action day. We think it’s a great cause, so we’ll do our best to make up for it today.
What is it? Blog Action Day was created to help generate awareness about the environment. The group has garnered support from thousands of blogs around the Web to generate awareness and promote ways to help protect the environment in general. (Maybe next year they’ll have a mobile website!)
Personally, one small step I have been taking recently has been to slowly replace all the lights in my house with the energy efficient, fluorescent light bulbs. I started with the outside lights, as they stay on all night and are usually the first burn out. We have recessed lighting in our basement, and after a little trial and error, I finally found the right size fluorescent bulbs. For anyone else having the same problem, I did just run across a lighting supply website that has a handy guide here. I’m about 40% done replacing all the bulbs in the house, and I feel better about it already.
What have you done to help protect the environment? Get some more ideas over at the Blog Action Day blog. Or share your idea by adding a comment below.
