Get Consumer Reports on Your Mobile
February 27th, 2008 MobileFreak
Whenever I am making a semi-significant purchase at a retail store (think Home Depot or Best Buy), I’m in too much of a rush to compare prices or give enough thought to which product is the best for me.
I often have my young kids with me, and I want to get out of the store as soon as possible before my 18 month old makes a run for it down the lumber aisle. So I never have time to talk to someone or compare different products. How do I know if the product has a good buyer rating? What are the other competing products, and how does the cost compare?
Wouldn’t it be great if I could have this information at my fingertips?
Alas, I can. The Consumer Reports mobile website brings buying recommendations, price ranges, and best known brands in a particular product right to my mobile phone.
Consumer Reports’ mobile website provides a small fraction of the information contained in their regular website. That said, it’s a start and I fully expect more detailed information and content to be added over the next several months. Until then, it is a useful resource that will only get better. Remember it the next time you are deciding on which washer to buy while your kid decides to hide in the dryer.
