Help Hurricane Ike Victims with One Simple Text Message

In light of the damage and injuries caused by Hurricane Ike yesterday, as well as other recent incidents, the American Red Cross needs your help. Now you can help by donating as little as $5 with a simple text message from your cell phone.
Simply text the word GIVE to 2HELP (or 24357) from your mobile phone, and the $5 will be added to your phone bill.
Here’s an excerpt from the American Red Cross website:
Subscribers of participating wireless carriers can donate $5 to American Red Cross disaster relief efforts simply by text messaging the keyword “GIVE” to “2HELP” (24357). Donations will appear on customers’ monthly bills or be debited from a prepaid account balance. Standard text messaging rates apply.Participating Carriers:

yeh i have a question – where do they tell you that the carriers pocet about 50% of premium sms billings. So unless they have worked out a one off deal with all the carriers it would be better to go online and donate using your credit card…at least only 3-5% gets eaten up in fees this way.
