Is Mobile Search Better With Picapage?

February 1st, 2008 MobileFreak

Picapage is banking on becoming the search destination for your handheld mobile device. Touting it’s fun, easy, and intuitive interface, the mobile search portal delivers multiple ways to get to the information you need, quickly.

There are a number of similar alternatives out there, but I do like what they are up to. If you have not yet settled on your mobile search go-to, take Picapage for a spin.

I was a bit surprised at how slowly it loaded on my BlackBerry. Nearly impossible actually.

woodi68 - the site loaded blazing fast on my axim51v. Im thankful for this find, i started getting sick with google for mobile…They should at least offer the same features as they do for the iphone to everyone else

Daniel - the mobile url is http://www.picapage.com
You should be able to navigate there directly on your mobile browser.

Regarding the error you got, I just got the same result. I contacted Picapage and hopefully that will be addressed/explained shortly.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Aviad, co-founder of Picapage. Thanks for using Picapage.
Unfortunately, we do have a problem in our site with sending the link as SMS to your mobile. Meanwhile, just type in your mobile’s address bar http://picapage.com.
Regarding Blackberry, we do not support it at the moment. We currently support smartphones with WM5/6 and Symbian 9.1/2. We will be glad to update you about new versions and support for new devices.

Aviad,

I think the misunderstanding is that people think Picapage is a mobile web site. It appears to be a downloaded application no?

On your site you say no installation is required, yet you say it is only supported by Windows mobile 5.

It’s a bit confusing.

Greg Harris
