Try This iPhone App to Meet Women at Bars
May 22nd, 2010 MobileFreak
We apologize for the somewhat cheesy title, but meeting people at bars is actually exactly what this iPhone app encourages.
In BarCards, players take turns selecting a card, and they get an assignment that somehow requires you to meet someone. By showing them your assignment on your iPhone, it breaks the ice quite a bit. BarCards also runs on an iPad, but bringing an iPad into a bar is probably not going to help your cause.
For example, if Maverick and Goose from Top Gun had this app 25 years ago, they would have had a much better excuse to start singing “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” to Charlie (Kelly McGillis). Now that would be a tough card to turn over.

Thanks for the review of BarCards! I hope that your readers will enjoy playing our game and get to meet a lot of new people!
Oh, and the author is spot on, playing on the iPad at a bar (instead of a iPhone/iPod Touch) might make it more difficult to meet folks ;)

This is great! It sounds like it would be fun. It depends on what kinda of bar your in as well I suppose. And yea, the Ipad would be super cheezy.
Really does sound good. :)
I will definitely check this apps on my hubby’s phone after this. I hope he don’t get this on his phone.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed playing BarCards! Just wanted to let you know that we released v1.1 that fixes all the crashing issues you might have had on iOS4.
Also, we released more cards with two a few new types of cards including “games” (think along the lines of challenging someone to a hold-your-breath contest and win) and an answer feature (look for the “A” at the top right corner on cards for real and/or snarky answers).
Finally, you can design your own BarCards and vote for the ones to be rolled out in future versions at http://barcardsgame.com so check it out!
