Use Your Phone to Get Your Degree

Interesting story coming out of Japan this morning. Cyber University in Tokyo is now apparently offering a class on the ancient pyramids, and is only offered on certain mobile phones.
Now, I could absolutely imagine how this could supplement a lecture style course. But people learn in different ways, and I cannot imagine that a course by mobile phone could come close to providing the value that a normal lecture style course would for most people. The story does mention a good point about the benefits of this medium for those with disabilities or in remote areas who would have great difficulty getting to a central location.
What do you think? Is there a place for a mobile phone-only class in today’s society?
