Virginia Beach Mobile Website
August 10th, 2007 MobileFreak
I recently ran across a mobile website designed for visitors to Virginia Beach, Virginia. It has an extremely simple, plain interface. It literally displays a brief list of links within about eight different categories, including hotels, restaurants, night life, shopping, etc.
This is exactly the way it should be. When users are browsing from their mobile phone, the ability to get location quickly and intuitively is critical. This site does that very well.
Each link to a hotel, restaurant, or other destination provides the address and phone number in plain text. One simple improvement here would be adding a map to the location, and eventually adding that person’s location using their coordinates from the cell phone provider. Adding click-to-call functionality to that phone number would also be extremely convenient. This site appears to be relatively new, so maybe we’ll see some new features soon.
