Your Golf Scorecard on Your iPhone

May 26th, 2008 MobileFreak

iGolfScorecardiGolfScorecard is a simple mobile web app for the iPhone or iTouch that acts as an electronic scorecard, allowing you to enter and track your scores on the golf course.

This mobile application includes a simple, intuitive interface, which is absolutely key for golfers that want to concentrate on their swing rather than some complicated application on their phone. There are plenty of other golf apps or mobile websites for the phone that include more complex features, but at some point it starts to become less about the game itself and more about how to use all the complex features.

I’m a golfer myself. In my mind, the iGolfScorecard could be a big hit among the technologically aware golfers that still want to concentrate on the game itself.

I submitted smartSCORECARD to the Apple iPhone Web App site last week. It debuted as the Featured Web App for “All Categories” and is still currently the Featured Web App for “Sports.” It lets you and up to three buddies keep score on the golf course. You must be an oobgolf.com member to use it (membership is free)–it leverages course data from oobgolf.com and stores your live scores on the oobgolf.com website.

This is awesome, I love golfing but I hate fiddling with those tiny pencils and little pieces of paper. It’s nice how simple this is and I don’t have to worry about my horrible handwriting anymore!

Eh, native applications are better than webapps. I like AccelGolf. It works with iPhone and Blackberry and the community is growing really fast.
